Sydney is a gorgeous city set on a vast, deep harbor and filled with lush parks, renovated historic buildings, modern architecture and superb vistas. Iconic Sydney Opera House and the Harbor Bridge accentuate an already stunning harbor. Please enjoy these 24 photos from my recent visit.
Sydney 1  Stunning view of Sydney CBD from the Harbor Bridge. Sydney 2  Circular Quay, adjacent to the Opera House, is the main ferry & boat terminal, backed by soaring skyscrapers and lined by wide pedestrian walkways and parks. Sydney 3  Sydney's colorful ferries transport residents and tourists alike to various neighborhoods around the vast harbor. Sydney 4  Sydney Opera House is one of Australia's most visited attractions. It's also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, considered one of the world's best architectural masterpieces.
Sydney 5  The Royal Botanic Gardens start behind the Opera House then wrap around Farm Cove Bay, offering wide grassy lawns, shady trees, landscaped gardens and sweeping views over the harbor. Sydney 6  Sydney Harbor Bridge with palm trees from the Botanic Gardens. Sydney 7  Stately Queen Victoria Building is one of Sydney's most iconic renovated buildings, with it's gorgeous and elaborate Romanesque Revivial exterior. Sydney 8  The interior is just as magnificent.
Sydney 9  ...and is now filled with international designer boutiques. Sydney 10  Sydney also boasts some stunning modern architecture, like the Museum of Contemporary Art. Sydney 11  Although the museum mainly showcases modern art, it also presents a decent collection of Aboriginal art. Sydney 12  From Sydney's many leafy parks some gorgeous urban views are found.
Sydney 13  ...and occassional glimpses of historic buildings set against modern. Sydney 14  These beautifully restored warehouses, set below the Harbor Bridge, are now filled with seafood restaurants, pubs and small boutique shops. Sydney 19  Gorgeous Saint Mary's Cathedral is considered one of the finest  English-style gothic churches in the world. It's situated beside Hyde Park in Sydney's CBD. Sydney 20  Government House is another beautiful historic building. It rests inside the Botanic Gardens. Free tours of the stately rooms are offered on weekends.
